The create-your-own-reality advocate easily accepts the banishment of misfortune. They like it for two reasons, (for starters):
1. Misfortune sounds like the evasion of responsibility for creating something unpleasant. In other words, they ban talking this way, not the physical manifestation of Divine Will.
2. Misfortune is painful.
Banishment is an official act. Like the old fashioned "publishing the bans of a marriage." Or, being banished from court in disgrace.
Let's banish the bane, misfortune.
Fortune or misfortune, which shall it be? Fortune is strong, like a fort, muy fuerte!
Here's a simple prescription for banishing misfortune:
1. Change actions that attract misfortune.
2. Change the content of misfortune so that it becomes fortune.
When life hands you lemons,...take them! Because, hey! Free lemons.
Napoleon Hill said that any misfortune has in it the seed of an equal or greater fortune. Tony Robbins urges us to keep asking questions like,
"What about this is really good?"
"What about this is truly funny?"
"How is this in my best interest?"
"How can I turn this around?"
"How does this really support my long term goals?"
Often we find something we did, a choice we made, had a part to play in the seeming misfortune. That choice came from a definite belief that was mistaken in some way. The belief was based on a value that we need to reexamine.
Recently my son Robert performed a musical piece for an official evaluation with some fellow students at his high school. The performance was far from what he had hoped for, and less that he had personally prepared for. It was a brass ensemble.
One of the members was laggard in learning his part. The ultimate result was an "Excellent" rating instead of "Superior."
He said his choice of fellow players was based on liking the players. He now resolves to consider ability and disciplined attitude first.
When we make an effort to create a desired reality and get misfortune, we stop. We look at our action, our attitude, our intention. The action, the emotion, the mental state--these are all sources of our fortune.
It may be true, from the highest perspective, that everything coming our way is preordained. It may be true that the Almighty-Power-Who-Is-Running-the-Program has everything carefully worked out to produce just such an outcome and no other for us. But we don't know what it is. The future is hidden. Yet,
our vision is clear, or can be.
If we have dreams, hopes, plans, actions to take, we owe it to ourselves to do the best we can with real effort and passion. We cannot wait to solve this mystery first.
When you start tracing back causative factors...
1. To get this result, I needed to do these actions and have this attitude,
2. To have this attitude, I needed to have certain learning experiences,
3. To choose those learning experiences I needed certain proclivities,
4. To have those proclivities, I needed to have certain childhood experiences,
5. To have those childhood experiences, I needed to have certain parents,
6. To have those parents I needed to....Somewhere along this regress we hit the wall.
It is not an infinite regress, it is just a wall of concealment. We can't get past it by thought or introspection.
That's another reason to just act as if we create our own reality. (We don't know if we do.) But, we do know that we cannot penetrate the curtain that conceals our fate.
Let us also recall the primary reason for acting as though we create our own reality. This attitude, belief and mind set typifies the high achievers. And high achievers have more fun!
So let's choose to Banish Misfortune. |
PS. Banish Misfortune is the name of a fiddle tune. It's one of the tunes selected for the music project, The Money Tunes. Here is a link to the MP3 file Banish Misfortune--solo fiddle.
The Money Tunes project came about after I attended the T. Harv Eker event on the Secrets of the Millionaire Mind Intensive Workshop. It was a three day event, a bonus for simply purchasing his excellent book.
The belief altering experience got me to thinking about the fiddle tunes that have something about money in the title. Money Musk, Ten Penny Bit, Boys My Moneys All Gone, to mention a few.
I am recording these in the tuning of A-432, the Mozart A. This frequency helps to harmonize our feelings, thoughts and beliefs about money--leading to a natural increase in prosperity, abundance and good money management.
